Hazel Grove Allotments Open Day

Yesterday I went on a fact-finding mission for a photo-project I have in mind and enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon out in the process. Hazel Grove Allotments held their annual open day with the allotments on view to the public and lots of tempting goodies on sale. Janet and I went down with Karrie and Stew (they’re keenly waiting for an allotment) and chatted to some of the allotment holders. We sampled the coffee and cake stall (well it would be churlish not too) and came away with plants for the garden and fresh raspberries for tea. A timeless and very English afternoon out and all in the warm sunshine!

My forthcoming project is more about gardeners than the gardens, but yesterday (in between cake stalls!)  I took the opportunity to shoot a couple of abstract flower details. These poppy seed heads were amongst my favourites..

I’ll keep you posted on the photo-project as it unfolds.

Again the poppy head shots are fantastic.
I have spoken to Karrie and Stew today regarding a fantastic
future shot of the Archway that I started over five years ago.
This is the one with the small gate on the cycle path to the
church. In another tho weeks the Hawthorn blossom should be out
and the Photo Shot should be great.

Plz can you tell me when the allotment open day day is at the back of KFC/Macdonalds. I would also like to rent a small plot.
